Caution about Nu Ear hearing aids
Short Review on January&nbs-05:00;24,&nbs-05:00;2017
NuEar hearing aids constantly stop working.
Got the hearing aids fall 2015. They worked fine for 5 or 6 weeks then started to make "static" sounds, then stopped working.
Returned to DR. office they repaired them, gave them back, same story in another 6 weeks or so. This same thing happened several time, finally in January I insisted that I wanted my money back, or a different set. Was given another set.
These have the same story. Work wonderfully for several weeks, then stop. And yes I clean them and replace wax seals on a regular basis. I'm so disgusted that I haven't worn them for several weeks. I am going to return them and ask for a full refund.
I paid over $6K for something that doesn't work.

Good luck on finding a new dealer . . .
I purchased NuEar units ($5,000) and assumed I could get lifetime support from other NuEar dealers. (The majority of the cost of the units is for continued support after all) Not so!
Now that I am moving to a new city, I will have to find a new dealer - closest one is over 60 miles away - and pay for any cleaning or other usual and customary services for the units.
I now have "buyer's remorse" and suggest anyone considering buying a NuEar aide ask about what happens to promises of continued support if you move to a new location and have to work with a different dealer.
Disappointed in quality of product. Not worth the price that I paid.
Costly repairs
Nine years ago I got my first set of NU EAR hearing aids ($5,000) , after 5 years I was told that the right one could not be adjusted anymore and I needed new ones. I waited a while then purchased the "state of the art " ($4,000 +).
Last week the tiny little collar holding the wax filter fell off the left hearing aid while I was on vacation- CHEAP GLUE as I see it.
I went to my hearing aid provider and was told that they cannot glue this tiny piece and have to send the unit back to NU EAR.
Since my warranty has expired the cost will be $350 because I am REQUIRED to purchase 1 year warranty when they do any repair. This is COHERSION and EXTORTION as far as I am concerned, I will not pay $350 for a $10 job.
My old hearing aids did not have the filter tip, matter of fact one of them did not even had a small tube extending out (it was broke during a repair job), I was told it was OK then. I plan on checking other brands when I decide it's time for new units.

I am not satisfied what so ever
Imagine VS by NUEAR HEARING AIDS Warranty period
I can't hardly believe that a company would manufacture and sell at prices between $3,000.00 and $4,000.00(ea.) and at the end of their warranty period in stead of adjusting them they want to sell you new ones.(New Technology) My hearing has changed and I asked them to reset the aids to the changes in my hearing and was told that I needed the newer ones and they would discount the new ones if i would purchase them. The Price for two new ones would be about $7,500.00. Sounds like to me a rip off every two years.
Don't Purchase Nu Ear Hearing Aids
I purchased Nu Ear Hearing Aids with a 2 year warranty and I have had to send them back for repair twice. The same small wire from the earpiece to the works has broken.
I understand the price of the part is $100.00, no telling how much they charge for labor. My warranty is up in two months. After that I'll have to pay for the poor design of these hearing aids. I don't think that is fare.
I understand NU Ear has been purchased by Starkey Co. They are behind the ear, and the model is VOZ17, Nu Ear.

I could have written this post. I am having exactly the same problem, and was supposedly given a new pair of hearing aids that also started having constant static. I'm going tomorrow to insist on a new pair and different brand.
